After the joists and sub-floor are put on, the next step is to frame the exterior walls and set the roof trusses (as seen above). This process moves us one step closer to getting the roof shingles on and installing the exterior doors and windows. Once the roof, doors, and windows are complete, electricians, plumbers, and HVAC contractors can begin their rough work.
With modern-day codes, the installation of the trusses requires an intricate set of braces. The average person may not know they exist because they are hidden once the sheetrock is installed.
Our construction process includes overlapping the wall sheathing onto the floor framing. This allows for a stronger bond between the walls and the foundation and prevents the walls from swaying. We also install a house wrap, which reduces air infiltration thereby keeping the house warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.
Stay tuned in the coming weeks as we continue along with this project!
