Once the exterior walls are built and the trusses are set and sheathed in, the next step is to make the outside of the house weather-tight. The first thing we do is install the roof shingles. This is done prior to installing the doors and windows in order to reduce the risk of damage from falling roof debris during the application. This type of damage is rare, but it can occur. Once the roof is on, the windows and doors are set and the nailing flanges are taped to the house wrap to prevent air and water penetration.
Simultaneously, we are framing the interior walls so that the house is completely ready for plumbing, heating, cooling, and electric rough-ins. This work will take place in the next step of reconstruction process.
Stay tuned for further updates into this project!
